GRAN ÉXITO DEL DIRECTOR LUDWIG CARRASCO / GREAT SUCCESS OF CONDUCTOR LUDWIG CARRASCO

Gran éxito del concierto del director Ludwig Carrasco al frente de la Orquesta de Cámara de la Universidad Michoacana el pasado día 7 de Septiembre. Con un auditorio lleno se presentaron obras de Donizetti, Vivaldi, Graupner, y Stravinsky. Tal fue la respuesta del público que solista y director ofrecieron un encore: "Escolaso" de Astor Piazzolla en versión para fagot y orquesta de cámara.


Great success of the concert conducted by Ludwig Carrasco with the Michoacan University Chamber Orchestra last Wednesday, September 7th. In front of a full house the works by Donizetti, Vivaldi, Graupner, and Stravinsky were performed and, due to the favorable response from the audience, soloist and conductor offered an encore: "Escolaso" by Astor Piazzolla in a version for bassoon and chamber orchestra.

ESTRENO EN MÉXICO DE OBRAS DE DONIZETTI Y GRAUPNER / PREMIERE IN MEXICO OF WORKS BY DONIZETTI AND GRAUPNER

Ludwig Carrasco regresa como director huésped en la temporada de la Orquesta de Cámara de la Universidad Michoacana. El concierto tiene lugar el día 7 de Septiembre a las 20 hs en el Centro Cultural Universitario (Morelia, Michoacán, México) con entrada gratuita. El programa, que tiene como solista al fagotista Everardo Gastelum, esta compuesto de la siguiente manera:

Gaetano Donizetti: Introduzione (estreno en México)
Antonio Vivaldi: Concierto en mi menor, RV 484
Johann Christoph Graupner: Concierto en sol mayor (estreno en México)
Igor Stravinsky: Concierto en re mayor, "Basilea"

Ludwig Carrasco returns as guest conductor to the concert season of the Chamber Orchestra of the Michoacan University. The concert takes place on Septembre 7th at 8 PM in the Centro Cultural Universitario (Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico); admission is free. The program, that presents bassoonist Everardo Gastelum as soloist, is comprised of the following works:

CONCIERTOS EN EUROPA / CONCERTS IN EUROPE

Durante el mes de Agosto el violinista y director de orquesta Ludwig Carrasco realizó diversas actividades internacionales en Suiza e Italia. En la primera semana de Agosto presentó tres conciertos en el Davos Festival (Suiza) como miembro del Ensemble Laboratorium, grupo dedicado a la interpretación de la música contemporánea, quien regresaba por tercera vez consecutiva a ese prestigioso festival. El repertorio de dichos conciertos estuvo conformado por música nueva de compositores de Azerbaiyán (Said Gani, Firudin Allahverdi, y Franghiz Ali-zade). Es de destacar que estos conciertos fueron transmitidos en vivo a nivel mundial vía internet por IC247.

Posteriormente, ya en su faceta de director de orquesta, participó en la Europäische Akademie Montepulciano (Italia) dirigiendo a la Orchestra del Palazzo Ricci en un concierto (el 20 de Agosto) con selecciones orquestales y vocales de las óperas La bohème (Giacomo Puccini) y Nabucco (Giuseppe Verdi).

During the month of August the violinist and orchestral conductor Ludwig Carrasco was engaged in several international activities in Switzerland and Italy. In the first week of August he performed three concerts at the Davos Festival (Switzerland) as a member of Ensemble Laboratorium, group devoted to the interpretation of contemporary music, who returned for the third time to this prestigious festival. The repertoire of these concerts consisted of new music by composers from Azerbaijan (Said Gani, Firudin Allahverdi, and Franghiz Ali-zade). It is noteworthy that these concerts were streamed live worldwide by IC247.

Later on, acting as orchestral conductor, he participated at the Europäische Akademie Montepulciano (Italy) conducting the Orchestra del Palazzo Ricci in a concert (on August 20th) with orchestral and vocal selections from the operas La bohème (Giacomo Puccini) and Nabucco (Giuseppe Verdi).
